Australia:
On 28/04/21, Victorian Acting Premier, James Merlino, has put forward a proposal to the Australian Federal Government, seeking permission for international students to return.
Set to begin on the 24 May 2021, if the proposal is approved an extra 120 arrivals could return to Victoria each week.

Canada
While Canada still has border restrictions in place for international travel, they have detailed a plan to allow 401,000 new permanent residents by the end of 2021. The new pathways will make the process easier for domestic immigration candidates, such as international students at Canadian universities, to apply for permanent residence.
Canada has also recently announced a Potential Vaccine Passport scheme to verify that incoming travellers have been vaccinated which will help facilitate a return to normal global movement. Chief Science Advisor Dr. Mona Nemer is anticipated to deliver a report on vaccine passports later this month. This could be good news for international students looking to study abroad!

United Kingdom
At this stage, Britain appears to be following in the footsteps of Canada with a potential vaccine passport program for international travel. While the English borders never explicitly closed their borders, there were restrictions in place. May 17 has been highlighted as the earliest date in which non-essential travel can resume.

United States
On Tuesday April 27, The United States has said that they will ease restrictions on international students entering the country, in time for the start of the school year from August 1.
Students with the appropriate visas from countries like China, Brazil and South Africa as well as Europe, can look forward to the opportunity to studying at universities in The United States.
