Aurora, Illinois adopts a law limiting the number of pets kept by residents, notes Grumpy Editor. What’s more, Aurora seeks to curb noises animals make outdoors.
With the new law, Aurorians can own no more than four “companion” or farm animals per home and up to two of the same species. (A “companion animal” is defined as a dog, cat, ferret, rabbit, guinea pig or hamster.)
Dog owners also will be fined if their canines make “excessive noise” during certain times of the day, according to a revised animal control ordinance.
Owners with more than four pets before the ordinance would be exempt.
