These Perfumes Have the Best Aesthetic—They Smell Good Too

I know the saying goes, “It’s what’s on the inside that counts.” That’s definitely true, but sometimes, it’s nice to look at pretty things, right? In this case, I’m talking about pretty Perfume bottles. There are so many interesting ones that could seriously double as décor or works of art. And the best part is, most of the time, they smell pretty amazing too.

With the right collection of unique and beautiful sculptures (I mean perfume bottles), you can create the perfect little vignette on your bathroom vanity, makeup table, dresser… wherever you display your fragrances. I’ve seen a couple of bottles that I wouldn’t mind displaying on my living room bookshelves or side table. Hey, I love a décor piece that does double duty.

I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite pretty perfume bottles below that I’d like to add to my collection. If you’re feeling inspired to redecorate (and try a new scent), take a look below.

Valentino’s perfume bottle features the brand’s iconic studs all over—the perfect tribute to the legendary fashion house. The fragrance itself is both floral and woody with notes of black currant accord, bergamot essence, jasmine grandiflorum absolute, jasmine sambac absolute, jasmine tea, bourbon vanilla, cashmeran, and guaiac wood essence.

With the gold details and the YSL logo wrapped around the bottle, this is a luxe and stylish piece. It’s a daring floral scent with a top note of lavender essence, middle note of orange blossom, and base note of musk accord.

For the minimalists out there, you’ll appreciate this modern and simple bottle. The cologne is inspired by “warm summer evenings in the Mediterranean,” so it’s infused with mandarin, amber, and zesty orris.

Mugler’s Alien Goddess bottle almost looks like a piece of jewelry. The fragrance has a warm floral scent with key notes of bergamot essence, jasmine grandiflorum, and bourbon vanilla.

The blue-and-gold fragrance cap is described as “a visual metaphor for the world.” Whatever its symbolism, it’s a pretty, gemlike piece. Notes include bergamot, orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine, vanilla, white musk, and cedarwood.

Many of Tom Ford’s fragrances have similar-shaped bottles in different hues. This pink-red bottle will really stand out on any surface. Lost Cherry is a warm and spicy fragrance with scents of black cherry, tonka bean, and almond.

Flowerbomb is a total classic—the scent plus its iconic bottle shape. The glamorous floral scent has top notes of cattleya orchid, freesia, and centifolia rose; middle notes of sambac jasmine and osmanthus; and base notes of patchouli and vanilla.

This perfume bottle looks like an expensive piece of fine crystal or even a pretty bottle of expensive liquor. The latter might have been what the perfume makers were going for since the fragrance contains cognac oil, oak absolute, cinnamon essence, tonka bean absolute, sandalwood, praline, and vanilla.

I can’t think of a perfume more legendary than Chanel No. 5, and the bottle with its iconic label is even more of a timeless décor piece.

It’s a garden party inside and out with Gucci’s Flora perfume. The cheerful scent features notes of pear blossom, white gardenia, jasmine, brown sugar, and patchouli.

Any perfume that’s made to celebrate crystal manufacturer Baccarat’s 250th birthday is guaranteed to be the epitome of luxury. Baccarat Rouge 540 is a beautiful bottle with an even more beautiful fragrance. Notes include jasmine, saffron, cedarwood, and ambergris.

Chloé’s chic bottle features its signature scent (that’s also one of my personal favorites). It contains top notes of pink peony, freesia, and lychee; middle notes of magnolia flower, lily of the valley, and rose; and base notes of cedarwood, amber, and honey.

The whimsical and playful topper on this bottle is complementary to the contents inside. It’s a fruity floral fragrance with key notes of red raspberry, wild rose, and warm plum.

Of course, a fragrance from Hermès would have a bottle topped with a colorful silk ribbon that almost looks like one of the brand’s beautiful scarves. The spicy floral perfume has notes of ginger, tuberose, and sandalwood.

J’adore’s long neck with gold details makes for an eye-catching piece. Inside, the scent is seductive with ylang-ylang, Damascus rose, and jasmine.

The cap on this fresh perfume looks like a precious stone—you’ll never get it mixed up with another bottle. Key notes include geranium, orange flower, and rose centifolia.

This gold bottle is just ultra-luxe and flashy—without being too cheesy. The perfume is like a vacation in a bottle with Italian lemon, cypress oil, oakwood extract, and salty amber.

The design of Prada’s Candy bottle is both fun and unique with its bright-pink band, black topper, and gold details. The scent is a mix of white musk, benzoin resin, and caramel accord.
