According to a press release from the Ministry of Defence, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) gave the Missile Systems Quality Assurance Agency (MSQAA) in Hyderabad the Authority Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) of the Akash Weapon System (Indian Army Version) on December 3, 2022.

Rajnath Singh, the union defence minister, praised the DRDO, the Indian Army, and the business community. He said that the AHSP transfer is a historical occurrence. “This will go a long way toward providing the necessary services.”

The first AHSP transfer from the missile cluster to the MSQAA was performed by the Project Akash team. It is a sophisticated system that includes missiles and numerous ground systems.

The transfer procedure would enable the roadmap for next, in-production missile systems, according to Samir V. Kamat, secretary of defence R&D and chairman of DRDO.

The first indigenous, state-of-the-art surface-to-air missile system, Akash, has been a part of the armed forces for about ten years. It was purchased with an order worth 30,000 crore by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. It is a short-range surface-to-air missile system designed to defend weak spots from aerial assaults.

The Akash Weapon System (AWS) can engage multiple targets at once in autonomous or group mode. It has Electronic Counter-Counter Measures (ECCM) features that are built-in.
