The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas is a very capable aircraft and is outfitted with world-class missiles, Group Captain Syamantak Roy, the commanding officer of 45 squadrons of the Indian Air Force, better known as the Flying Daggers, on Thursday.

“The Sular Air Force Base is located in the middle of the southern peninsula, ensuring that we have reached not only over land to the north and east but also over the seas to the east, west, and south. That makes us a highly capable aircraft in terms of projecting our combat force across the nation, “Roy mentioned this.

The group captain continued by saying that the aircraft’s arsenal of weapons is incredible, enhancing its combat prowess and making it rather lethal in its intended use.

The LCA is designed to carry both long-range beyond optical range and short-term thermal missiles, both of which are of the highest calibre

As a multirole aircraft, he continued, “we also carry 1000 pound conventional bombs coupled with laser-guided bombs precision targeting and overall air to air as well as air to ground weapons.”

The component is currently approximately 60% in terms of cost and indigenization, close to 75% in terms of the number of capable aircraft, and the percentage is rising daily in terms of indigenization.

In addition to housing the Sarang helicopter show team and two squadrons of Light Combat Aircraft, Sulur is the base, Wing Commander Ashish Moghe of the Indian Air Force.

Asserting that the Indian Air Force is fully equipped to handle any mission assigned to it, Moghe backed up the combat potential of the Lca Tejas.

LCA Tejas pilot Group Captain M. Surendran stated that the aircraft is currently with the Indian Air Force and is fully operational and ready to deploy itself operationally for taking on any duty that is assigned by the Indian Air Force. (ANI)
