The Indian Air Force has collated evidence of the impact of its strikes at Pakistan’s Balakot terror training camp last week but a decision to release it officially will be taken by the political leadership, informed sources told ET, adding that IAF now has “credible evidence” to show its Mirage 2000s hit the designated targets.
The government, which has increasingly come under pressure for ‘proof ’ over the success of the operation, especially after senior BJP leaders cited specific numbers as estimate of terrorists killed, is believed to have been fully briefed on the outcomes of the cross-LoC air strikes on the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) training camp.
IAF has collected information in the form of satellite images, sensor data by observation aircraft that participated in the operation as well as feedback relayed by the weapon systems deployed. Read More
