The Indian Air Force (IAF), on Saturday, carried out the first full dress rehearsal at Pokhran field firing range in Chandan area and demonstrated its firing power, for the Vayu Shakti 2019 fire power demonstration, to be held on February 16.

In the presence of south western command commanding-in-chief Air Marshal H S Arora, IAF personnel demonstrated their firing power by hitting pseudo targets and fake enemy radar, army troop, arms cache, fake petrol pump, laser-controlled bomb, etc. In the rehearsal, around 150 fighter planes and helicopters took off from Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Agra and Gwalior Air Force stations and demonstrated their firing power.
On February 16, chances of PM Narendra Modi attending the programme are slim, but President Ramnath Kovind, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and others are expected. Read more
