The Indian BSF seems to be easy prey to cross-border sniper attacks. Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat had earlier warned Pakistan against its continued support to terror activities emanating from its soil, but Islamabad paid no heed and violated ceasefire along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports in Indian Media.
In fact, an officer of the Border Security Force was martyred in a sniper attack from across the border in Samba sector, officials said. ANI identified the deceased officer as Assistant Commandant Vinay Prasad, who succumbed to his injuries sustained in the cross-border firing.
The Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire across several locations along the IB and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The reports of shelling came from Samba, Kathua and Rajouri districts. Read More
