Ahmedabad: Flight Makes Emergency Landing To Save 5-year-old British Citizen

After a five-year-old British citizen, Zack Jesionek, suffered seizures aboard a Yangoon-, Myanmar-bound flight from Dubai, an emergency landing of the flight was facilitated by the Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control (ATC) on Saturday afternoon. Officials of Airports Authority of India (AAI) confirmed that the flight had been diverted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad to help attend to the medical emergency of the child.

A statement issued by AAI said, “Emirates Airlines flight UAE388, Boeing B777-300, from Dubai to Yangoon, requested Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control (ATC) at 1.03pm IST for diversion to Ahmedabad airport due to a medical emergency faced by a 5-year-old passenger. Ahmedabad ATC immediately approved the diversion and initiated priority landing procedures.” Read more
