Dividend Income Report – December 2023

Well, we’ve made it to the last month of the year. Now its time to post the Dividend income report for December. I for one am very excited that the year is over. I am hoping that 2024 will be better, but will will see. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I will try to stay positive in this report. Whether my Dividends are large or small, I can take comfort in the fact that over time I will experience exponential and compounding growth. So, without further adieu, let’s see how much dividends I earned in December.

Dividend Income

In December, I earned $38.13 in income broken down as follows:

$38.13 is not bad. I am still far off from crossing 3-digits but for right now, my goal is to cross the $50 mark and then the $100 mark. It’s a slow grind but it will be worth it in the end.

Annual Income

Here is the raw data:

As you can see, I earned 13.36% LESS dividends this year compared to last year. It’s going to take several more months, but I anticipate being in positive territory sometime in the future. It’s going to take consistency and discipline but I have no doubt that I’ll get there.

Forward Annual Dividends

At the time of this writing, the forward annual dividends is $327.96.  A month ago, my forward annual dividends was $315.02. This represents a 4.11% increase from the previous month. This small increase is mainly due to my reduced contribution to my dividend portfolio. Unfortunately, given my negative cashflow situation and my current lack of adequate income, I think the growth rate will be this low over the course of the next five months.

Finally, the Dividend Tracker, has been updated. As you can see from the tracker below, I’ve made $207.97 in dividends since the beginning of the year.

What Expenses Would Dividends Cover?

Here, I visualize what expenses my annual dividend income could pay for. This is one of my favorite parts of pursuing dividend growth investing.

$327.96 per year is $27.33 dividends per month, on average. At present, I earn enough in dividends to cover Acorns and Amazon Prime. I’ll take it.  Next on the list is Netflix!!!

Final Thoughts

The dividends were small this month and they likely will remain so for the next six months. I am hoping by May 2024, I will be out of the financial pit I’ve been in.

It’s exciting starting a New Year. With it comes renewed goals and almost just a fresh start. My financial situation has slightly improved, and though it will be tough, I can see how I can get through the next couple of notes.

On a personal level, I plan to get a dog from the shelter on January 3 and begin the training of the dog to be a service dog. I am both excited and nervous at the same time. I may take a picture and post it once that happens.

In any case, I hope to increase the minimum contributions to my dividend portfolio again in 2024, but that likely won’t happen before August. Until then, I will continue to report on my dividend income reports.

Finally, I haven’t been visiting other dividend blogs recently, so I may make that part of my New Year’s Resolution. We will see.

Thank you all for your support in 2023 and I look forward to your continued support in 2024.

Happy New Year all!
