Ease of doing business.Really?

It is a kind of shock for the followers of Narendra Modi and for those who believe in him.Despite all his propaganda of Make in India project and decreasing the number of old regulations to ease business operations, India’s rank in ‘ease of doing business’ in the world remains almost same from last year. This list is prepared by World Bank every year.Last year India’s rank was 131.This year India’s rank is 130 mostly due to minor changes in the criterion. So it can be attributed that there was no change in the ranking. Despite of all the things that we listen on TV daily that Narendra Modi is doing all shorts of stuff to attract foreign investors, the ranking has not changed. Then what is the use of such a propaganda. There goes a clear message to the foreign investors that doing business in India is very tough. And it is world Bank ranking, despite what Narendra Modi says. They will believe in ranking of world Bank, not in Narendra Modi.

Among 190 economies India’s ranking is 130.As an Indian can you digest this fact.An economy which is growing at a GDP of 8%.

Clearly drastic measurements should be taken by Narendra Modi Government. It is hope that we get from Narendra Modi government, and he should try harder to keep up to those hope.

The world Bank has acknowledged many changes made by India since last year.Despite the changes there was no change in ranking because the other economies has improved at par with India.

Let us consider the ease of doing business state wise. Here is the list of top 10 states:

States rankings of ease of doing business in India

Gujarat has lost it’s position to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Significant Improvements are made by states of Haryana,Uttarakhand and Bihar. One of the surprising thing is Delhi, the capital of India is behind than Bihar in the list.Arvind Kejriwal should take a look at this.

BOTTOM LINE:

Drastic measures should be taken by Narendra Modi government. Foreign investors will look at the facts not what Narendra Modi has to say at the end of the day. Despite all his propaganda to attract foreign investors, most successful investors would like to look at the numbers not the advertisement!
