The BSE Sensex settled the day at 28,334, up 4 points, while the broader Nifty ended at 8,793.55, up 15.15 points. In the broader market, BSE Mid-cap fell 0.2% while BSE Small-cap added 0.1% Nifty February 2017 futures closed at 8809.35 on Friday at a premium of 15.80 points over spot closing of 8793.55, while Nifty March 2017 futures ended at 8839.95, at a premium of 46.40 points over spot closing.
Nifty February Futures saw a contraction of 0.07 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 21.68 million (mn) units. The near month derivatives contract will expire on February 23, 2017. Highest open interest has been seen in 8800 and 9000 strike price for call option and in8600 and 8700 strike price for put option.
