Review of American Precious Metals

Credibility: The first thing to point out is that if you do a search for American Precious Metals, you need to make sure you get the right company. APMEX comes up in searches for American Precious Metals, and so does a company called American Precious Metals LLC, based in San Jose, California. I am reviewing American Precious Metals Inc, based in Phoenix AZ.

I looked on some of the leading review sites, such as TrustLink, Merchant Circle, Google, Local Directory, Yellow Pages, and Yelp and all I could found about American Precious Metals Inc was one review. It was a very positive review, and American Precious Metals Inc does have three reviews on their Facebook page, which are also positive.

Although based in Arizona, and priding themselves of supplying gold and silver to the local market, American Precious Metals Inc does supply nationwide once they have received your payment. All deliveries are sent either by registered mail, insured mail or by UPS.

There is nothing to say that American Precious Metals Inc are not a credible firm to deal business with, the thing is you don’t know what you can expect by way of service and delivery, due to the lack of reviews across the web.

Website: www.apmaz.com – The website is a nice simple and clean site. The navigation is simple and under their product and service tab they outline the precious metals they sell (I’ll mention them in a moment), along with information on IRA and storage. At the time of writing this review,  American Precious Metals offered 9 gold bullion items, 7 silver bullion items, 3 gold coins, 5 gold foreign coins and 3 silver coins.

Minimum Investment amount: They don’t have a minimum purchase for walk-in clients, however if you are purchasing from out of town/state and need the items shipped, there is a 100 oz minimum on silver and a 5 oz minimum on gold purchases

American Precious Metals History:

American Precious Metals Inc was founded in 1994 by Jerry Williams. Mr. Williams started American Precious Metals Inc after spending 12 years in the securities business. Prior to that, he worked in the precious metals and related investments industry from 1973. Mr. Williams now holds the position of Vice President of Operations, while his daughter, Courtney Lovelace is President and CEO. American Precious Metals Inc are based in Phoenix Arizona.

Gold IRA Rollover

American Precious Metals Inc do offer a gold IRA facility, however, it is not direct. They can provide you with the recommended gold for your IRA, but you will have to use a third party to set up the IRA. American Precious Metals Inc currently recommend New Direction IRA, who are a specialist firm offering custodial and administrative services for retirement accounts, having said that New Direction IRA do not offer physical custody and administrative oversight of your IRA, that is provided by First Trust Company of Onaga, in Kansas. Concerns/ Things to Consider

There is nothing to suggest that American Precious Metals Inc are not a trustworthy company,  I am concerned a little though by the number of people who would be involved in your Gold IRA (see above) You really want to be dealing with one company that does it all for you, otherwise, you will see costs increase and it may start to get complicated as to who is dealing with what part of your gold IRA. Just something to think about when setting up your IRA.
