What Is Exirio?

Exirio has been in the works since 2020, when the company’s founder, David Martinez de Lecea, wanted to create a way to track investments in multiple currencies. Since its founding, the company has grown to include professionals from around the world with backgrounds in finance and technology.

What Does It Offer?

Let’s take a closer look at what Exirio has to offer.

Track A Range Of Assets

Exirio allows you to track a wide range of assets, even some that are relatively uncommon. Below is a closer look at the types of assets you can track with Exirio:

  • Cash
  • Precious metals
  • Other commodities
  • Crypto
  • Hedge funds
  • Private equity funds
  • Venture capital funds
  • Savings accounts
  • Security portfolios
  • Structured products
  • Luxury assets, including art, cars, boats, jewelry, watches, wine, and more
  • Private company shares
  • Private loans
  • Commercial real estate
  • Residential real estate
  • Land
  • Managed pension fund
  • Self-directed schemes

You can also track your loan balances. When combined with the big selection of assets to track, it’s likely that you’ll be able to track a comprehensive look at your net worth.

Multi-Currency Tracking

When you create an Exirio account, you can define an ‘owner currency.’ The owner currency is the type of currency you want your wealth to be displayed in. But if you have investments in other currencies, these will be converted into your chosen owner currency using updated foreign exchange rates.

As of writing, you can track your holdings in over 40 different currencies.

Detailed Investment Tracking

Exirio includes a portfolio tracker, which offers detailed information about your investments. The goal of the tracker is to help you find ways to optimize your investment decisions to reach your financial goals.

Through Exirio, you can compare metrics across all investments and even compare different asset classes against each other.

Third-Party Access Available

If you want someone else, like a financial advisor or spouse, to have access to your account, that’s easy to set up. You can provide access on any level. For example, you can allow them to edit or view your data. And, you can determine if they have access at any time or only during an emergency.

Are There Any Fees?

Exirio offers both a free and paid version of the platform.

The free version will track all of your investments and give you a full investment history, up to 10,000 transactions. You'll also get detailed performance metrics and automatic price updates.  However, you can only connect to one external institution and there will be ads.

For $10 a month, or $100 a year, you will get everything in the free version except that your transaction history will be unlimited, you can connect as many institutions as you want, and there no ads. You'll also get automatic dividend tracking and priority support.

Financial advisors and asset managers who want to use the software must reach out to Exirio for customized pricing.

How Does Exirio Compare?

Exirio isn’t the only tool designed to track your net worth. Here’s how it stacks up.

Empower, formerly Personal Capital, is a longtime favorite for tracking your net worth. It’s completely free to use, but you should expect some attempts to sell you on the company’s managed portfolio products. While Empower does track international holdings traded in U.S. markets under U.S. dollars, you’d have to manually add information about investments made in foreign currencies.

Kubera is another option, which promises a modern solution for portfolio tracking. Like Exirio, Kubera tracks a wide range of investment classes, including homes, cars, metals, domains, crypto, and precious metals. Importantly, it also tracks global currencies and converts assets in all currencies and converts all assets to the currency of your choice. But you won’t find detailed portfolio analysis with Kubera, which costs $15 per month or $150 per year.
