Equity markets ended mixed after consolidation on Friday despite positive global cues, as investors looked for more corporate earnings for cues. Benchmark indices hit fresh record highs in opening but could not hold those gains for long and remained range bound throughout the session. The 50-share NSE Nifty snapped four-day winning streak, falling 20.80 points to close at 10,323 after hitting an intraday record high of 10,366.15. The 30-share BSE Sensex ended at fresh record closing high of 33,157.22, up 10.09 points from previous close. Nifty November 2017 futures closed at 10356.85 on Friday at a premium of 33.80 points over spot closing of 10323.05, while Nifty December 2017 futures ended at 10392.25 at a premium of 69.20 points over spot closing. Nifty November futures saw an addition of 0.60 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 22.95 mn units. Highest open interest has been seen in 10500 and 10400 strike price for call option and in 10200 and 10300 strike price for put option.
