Where are we going ?

Gold is over $1,150 and the dollar appears to be losing ground each day. The bank stocks are flat. The metals go up and then down. So where should money be placed. Well, in my analysis, I like Brazil. Yes, Brazil. This is a hot Market and an area that is growing at a fast rate. There are lots of mutual funds and ETF's that have a good selection of companies in the Latin American area. My favorite is the ETF "EWZ". This holds a number of the best companies in the area. Since April, this ETF is up over 100%. Do your own research but with this country growing the fastest in South America I'm sticking in with it. If you decide you are interested in this, be aware it moves just like the Dow, so if you are like me and anticipate that we will eventually get back to the 14K area of the Dow, you'll be in for a nice run. Add to that a nice yield and this is a great holding..

Another area to look at is the Israel market. Often referred to as the new Silicon Valley east, this economy is having a big impact on the rest of the world. Just take a look at the ETF "ELS". On June 30th, 2009 this ETF was selling for $41.31. Now less than 6 months later it closed at $53.86 but even more importantly is that the trend has been continuously up. Add to that the dividend I expect them to pay this month and its a great return.

These two ETF's gives you a nice exposure to the foreign markets as well as a little protection to the falling dollar.
