Binance-backed Multi-coin Trust wallet adds Bitcoin to Existing Listings

Trust Wallet announced on Sunday that aside from Ethereum-based tokens, its multi-coinss wallet will now be supporting Bitcoin. The wallet that was specifically created for Ethereum-based tokens is diversifying to other assets in a bid to attract users of other tokens.

According to Viktor Radchenko, the founder of Trust Wallet, the idea to develop the wallet was inspired by lack of open source wallets supporting Ethereum and ERC20 tokens. Radchenko reveals that his company took the liberty to be the pioneers in the sector. One year down the line his creation has earned an impressive reputation and is growing to accommodate other assets.

Trust wallet’s Listings

Trust Wallet has been involved in the diversification efforts for a while now. The Firm recently announced that it will be listing TRON (TRX) to existing offerings. As of now the wallet supports “Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), GoChain (GO), POA Network (POA), Callisto (CLO), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Wanchain (WAN) and VeChain (VET), and TRON (TRX).”

All ERC20, ERC223 and ERC721 –based tokens are supported automatically by the wallet. Through its blog Trust Wallet announced that it will be supporting Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) before 2018 ends.

Binance acquisition

I July, Binance- the leading cryptocurrency exchange in the World finalized the acquisition of Trust Wallet. The Exchange giant was appealed by the wallet’s security (it never demands user data and private information) making it the first acquisition for Binance since its launch in 2017.

Secure wallets are a critical part of the cryptocurrency puzzle that Binance wouldn’t want to miss out on. Security has single-handedly derailed cryptocurrencies’ mass adoption. There have been cases of users and exchange platforms losing large amounts of coins to hackers. Hacking has forced potential crypto users to stand in the sidelines and the solution to this will only come inform of secure wallets- like Trust wallet.

The concept of cryptocurrency and Blockchain is as complicated as it gets and developers should create secure easy to use wallets to inspire crypto adoption.
