Bursa Malaysia was higher in early trade supported by buying in index heavyweights.
FTSE Bursa Malaysia Klci was 8.14 points up at 1,681.22 from Wednesday’s close of 1,673.08 after opening seven points better at 1,680.21.

Berjaya Land Bhd announced its new development on the island of Okinawa, Japan in partnership with Hospitality Company Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The project has a development cost of US$400 million and its gross development value is estimated at US$1 billion.

The US indexes ended the day in positive territory but well off their highs of the session. The Dow climbed 141.57 points or 0.6 percent to 24,207.16, the Nasdaq rose 10.86 points or 0.2 percent to 7,034.69 and the S&P 500 edged up 5.80 points or 0.2 percent to 2,616.10.
Wall Street strength continued after upbeat earnings from Bank of America and Goldman. Shares of Bank of America moved sharply higher trading after good results as the above estimate.
