Spot Silver Prices Rose by 0.5 percent on Monday to close at $17.6 per ounce. The rise in silver prices is in contrary to the fall in gold prices.
On the MCX, silver prices rose marginally by 0.24 percent to close at Rs.42058 per kg.
Seasonal demand from the Indian festival season, when gold is traditionally given as a gift, is also expected to help support prices. Third-quarter U.S. growth figures and Fed policymakers' speeches due this week will be closely watched for clues on a possible interest rate hike.
