Medisofts Medical Software is the best selling Ophthalmology Clinical System in the UK. It runs over hospital networks and interfaces with hospital PAS systems and some items of ophthalmic equipment.

The Program collects data at every stage of the cataract patients care pathway: initial consultation, pre-operative assessment, biometry, anaesthesia, pre-op checks, operation, post-op checks, telephone calls, follow up clinic visits and visits to the community optometrist.

At each stage a hard copy for the notes and letters can be automatically generated. Thus the paper notes are kept up-to-date, but without duplication of data entry, and a large amount of secretarial time is saved.

The program includes intraocular lens power calculations that recommend the appropriate formula for each eye in accordance with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists guidelines, and automatic customisation of a constants for both the Zeiss® IOL Master and ultrasound machines.
