AMBA Ransomware

AMBA is a Russian Ransomware that locks files with various extensions via advanced ciphers. The Amba Ransomware then keeps the encrypted data hostage until the victim pays a ransom. The cyber threats in this category may cause severe damage, which you may be unable to reverse. The best tools in the fight against file-encrypting Trojans are precautionary measures. Most of these parasites travel as compromised email attachments. You should never open files sent to you unless you are 100% sure the sender it legit and the file is clean. Keep in mind that the hackers may use social engineering tactics to scare the computer users and make them act unadvisedly. For example, they may describe the file containing AMBA as an urgent letter from your bank about suspicious transactions, or as a message about a failed shipment. Some people may assume that only .exe or .dll files may trigger an infection wrongly. In fact, even small text notes may contain harmful codes. If you download or activate the AMBA Ransomware unknowingly, it will not lock your PC immediately afterward. The AMBA Ransomware first needs to find the paths to files like MS Word documents, Excel tables, Powerpoint presentations, etc. The AMBA Ransomware also will try to change the core structure of your pictures, photos, music and videos files, databases, simple text notes, archives, etc. The AMBA Ransomware uses the RSA-4096 and AES-256 algorithms to lock the data, which are very strong ciphers. After the encryption takes place, you may notice a text file on your desktop containing information about the attack. It is named ‘ПРОЧТИ_МЕНЯ.txt’. which means ‘read me.’ The hackers demand the victims to write a message to [email protected], where they will negotiate the price. The sum is not announced in advance. It is considered a bad idea to act as the con artists expect you to. Your money will motivate them to continue with the ransomware attacks. Moreover, there is no guarantee that you will receive back access to your files if you pay the ransom. If you are lucky enough to have a spare copy of your hard drives on a cloud or an external device, you can use it to recover the lost data. You should first delete all traces of the AMBA Ransomware with a leading security solution.
