OpenPDF

OpenPDF is a Chrome add-on, which claims to be able to help users to unlock secured and restricted Pdf Files. While this might sound like a convenient tool, you should know that PDF files are not that easy to unlock and it is very unlikely that public and free Chrome add-on will be able to help you with this. It certainly seems as if OpenPDF’s abilities are exaggerated severely, and it is likely that this was done with one sole purpose – to get more users to install the extension in question.

When OpenPDF is installed, it will introduce additional changes to Chrome’s configuration automatically, and it is safe to say that most users would probably prefer to avoid the changes that OpenPDF is known to bring. This add-on’s installation can only be completed if the users authorize it to replace their default new tab page with Search.openpdf.pro – a safe search engine which, however, might not yield results that are as reliable as the ones presented by Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and other reputable search aggregators.

While using OpenPDF’s search engine is not an issue, you it might not work reliably for long since it is not associated with any reputable company. The recommendation is to stay away from dubious browser add-ons, which force you to use alternative websites on a daily basis because usually, their sole purpose is to generate traffic to the website they promote. The removal of the OpenPDF can be completed either manually or with the help of specialized security software that is capable of dealing with Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs).
