Interesting thread on JOGL - a Java porting of the OpenGL API in the Sun Java forums. The OP had valid points about his dissatisfaction with the API but spoiled it with his flamebait references to Sun. After the initial chaos it's a pretty good read on what's not OOish in the API.
To be frank, I‘ve been dying to move away from C++/OpenGL to Java/OpenGL provided I get a 'good' port. The possibilities of what I can do in Java to my 3D objects and scenes sometimes make me drool in the middle of the night. Not that C++ is bad far from it - it has one of the largest OpenGL userbases. Now if only we have a industry standard JOGL....sigh...
I guess I‘ll stick to C++ for the time being.
