It amazes me how many people put out an “internet expert” shingle and have not been trained or keep up with the latest changes with the internet, social media or algorithms.
Let’s take a quick look at what Merriam Webster says about expert:
having or showing special skill or knowledge because of what you have been taught or what you have experienced
So, how do you know if the “internet expert” you are working with, or considering hiring, is on top of recent changes?
- Ask them – how do they stay current on changes and training?
- Identify true online experts and read about changes yourself
- Always ask questions and make sure you understand why experts are doing what they are?
- Evaluate if the recommended changes support your objectives
- Make changes one at a time and measure the results
You may be asking – if you aren’t you should be -how does Yellowschmello keep updated on the ever-changing internet?
