Getting New Customers For Local SEO

Local businesses are still so grossly ignorant about the needs of Local Seo that we think it will take some serious efforts on the part of digital marketing agencies to pull small businesses into the folds. Now the powers and uses of local SEO are immense and we all know what we can achieve with a little optimization of the aspects of a local website, but unfortunately the folks running businesses are yet to know about it and something has to be done. Not only are these businesses missing lot of local prospects, they are also wasting their money and time chasing customers down the wrong channel. They are still betting big on flyers, posters and tools of the past that once upon a time had the potential to grab attention of people, but not anymore. Today, it would not be an exaggeration if we said that almost every customer begins his search online and takes it forward from there on.

How To Gain Trust
Many before us have talked a lot on trust building exercises in order to get small businesses to come out of their traditional shells and start looking at local SEO as a powerful alternative to all they have seen, heard and tried in their past and failed to get any real effect out of it.

Myles Anderson of Bright Local suggests a few useful things and he in fact puts them to use on his own website, you can take a look at those cool things by searching for his local SEO website, so we are not going to dwell long on the details, but we will definitely summarize his advice in as few words as possible.

1.    Give Away Knowledge For Free: The first thing he suggests to get more customers for local SEO is giving away information for free. There are infinitely different ways of giving away information for free, it could be something as simple as a monthly newsletter, a webinar or a free counselling session in a 5 star hotel meeting room, the choice is yours to make. What is important here is to make the first impression and make them see you as an expert in matters related to local SEO.

2.    Making More Happy Customers: Easier said than done, nevertheless very possible. The more happy customers you have on your rolodex the better chance you have of them giving you referrals. The question remains, how do you make your customers happy? The first thing to do is to give them what they came for within the time they wanted. Then of course, the journey gets uphill, because some customers are just not easy to please, while some are fairly easy. It depends on how well you handle your clients and how you turn their problems around and find solutions for it. If you manage to continue this for long periods, then that day will not be far when you will have a referral!

3.    Do Good to Look Good: It is quite appalling how so many digital marketing agencies fail to make a good website and apply the magic of local SEO on their corporate websites before looking for customers. Why is it so hard to understand that the first thing customers do when they see a business proposal is actually visit the website to reconnoitre? This is not a one off thing, if you send an email to a prospect, make sure that your website looks professional and you really excel in things that you are about to sell as a service. Unless you have done anything good, you will not look good to your prospects, so beginning today make an effort to build your website. There isn’t a worse deal-spoiler than an amateur looking website.

Besides these, you will also have to be quite active on the social sphere to get more small businesses willing to buy or at least try your local SEO services.
