1. Launch iTunes and pick the song you want.

2. Set the part you want to use as your Ringtone.

3. Make a Duplicate file

If you are using a Windows computer right, click the “File” > “Create AAC Version,” if you are using a Mac, click “Create Apple Lossless Audio File.” It will create a duplicate file AAC format, now you got a .m4a version of the song which is necessary to create the custom ringtone file. A cropped copy according to the length you set is set up in iTunes. Drag and drop this file to your desktop. That’s the one you can use for your new ringtone.

Don’t forget to go back and untick the Start and Stop options of the original soundtrack, else the track will only play the short section.
If you have not deleted anything on the actual track, don’t worry about losing the original song.
4. Open the song in File folder
When the file is finished converting, an alert tone will let you know about the completion. Select that new 30-second song file you created, and right click on the new AAC version of that sound file. Now click ‘Show in Windows Explorer’ if you are using a Windows computer and if you are a Mac user, click on ‘Show in Finder.'

5. Rename the Extension of the file
A window contains your newly created file with .m4a extension. It is most important to rename the extension name to .m4r. If you don’t change, then it’s not going to play as a ringtone on your iPhone.

(Note: if prompted to accept then make sure that your selection must be .m4r if it’s not visible then change the extension. (Tools > Options in the Windows lets you enable the extension view).
6. Delete the duplicated file you made.
After you have renamed the extension to .m4r, return back to iTunes and right click the song you've done from the iTunes library. Delete that short version of the track, check the length carefully before you press delete. It will ask you to move the selected song track to the Recycle Bin or keep it safe in the iTunes Media folder, make sure you choose “Keep File” otherwise the file will be deleted not only from our music library but from our computer entirely.

7. Import the track into iTunes tone library as a Ringtone
Go to the Windows Explorer, if you are using Mac then go back to the Finder window where the ringtone was saved and double click the shorter file. On clicking this file, it will start playing in the background. In the iTunes go to the row of icons in the top left corner and click on the three dots, from the given options select the tones. This time the song will automatically transfer to the iTunes Tone library as a ringtone.
8. Sync the ringtone with your iPhone
After completion of creating a custom ringtone, you’ll need to sync it to your iPhone. Connect you iPhone to your computer. Now you are on the iTunes panel of your phone, in which you need to select the icon for your device, choose the “Tones” option from the “On My Device” section. To sync iTunes with your iPhone, click on “Sync All Tones” and wait till finish syncing. Ensure that the tone is sync, from the “Tones” option in the “settings” section.

9. Set the new Ringtone on your iPhone

Go to “Settings” select “Sounds” and swipe down till the area below the vibrate option.
