Install Android 12L on your Chromebook with these steps

The long-awaited version of the new operating system of the great G for laptops, tablets and folding phones is here. Google has released Android 12L with the intention that both developers and users of large-screen devices put this version to the test, which will officially arrive in 2022. Set up Linux on the Chromebook

  • Once Linux is installed you will have the Terminal app on your Chromebook.
  • Open the Terminal app and type the command: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade-y .
  • If this command fails, put the following first: sudo apt-get update–allow-releaseinfo-change . Then repeat the above command.
  • The next thing is to install the Java Development Kit (JDK), for this you must type the following command in the Terminal app: sudo apt-y install default-jdk libnss3 .
  • With these steps you will have configured and updated Linux on your Chromebook to be able to install the program where you will emulate Android 12L.

Install Android Studio on your Chromebook

  • Now you need the Android Studio program, since with this you will emulate Android 12L. You can download it at this link . Remember to download the Canary version .
  • The file you downloaded will be in DEB format. Now you have to move it to the Linux file folder.
  • Once you are in this folder, open the file to install Android Studio.

  • After installing it, you will find the program in the Linux apps folder. Open Android Studio and complete the initial setup of the program.

Install Android 12L on the Chromebook

  • Once Android Studio is configured, on the main screen of the app press More Actions and then the Virtual Device Manager option.
  • At the top left of the window you just opened will be the Create Device button, click it.
  • Now hit Category option, choose Tablets and then you can select Nexus 7 or Pixel C device, both work for this tutorial.
  • Hit next and the next thing to do is download the file called Sv2 . This is the codename for Android 12L.
  • When the download is finished, click Finish. Now you will go back to the previous window and you will see the new device that you have created. Here you will only have to press the play button and voila, this will start the Android 12L emulation on your Chromebook.
