19-4-2024 (JAKARTA) As Indonesia braces for the Constitutional Court’s highly anticipated ruling on the 2024 presidential election dispute, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the chairman of the Strategic Coordinator of the National Campaign Team (TKN) for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has conveyed a resounding message from the candidates – a call for restraint and calm among their supporters.

With the Constitutional Court scheduled to deliver its verdict on Monday (22/4/2024), Dasco relayed Prabowo and Gibran’s appeal to their followers, urging them to refrain from staging demonstrations, either at the Constitutional Court premises or elsewhere across the nation.

“The message from Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka is that on April 22, 2024, which we both know that the Constitutional Court will pronounce its decision on the dispute trial for the presidential election, supporters and voters are asked not to take part in holding demonstrations, both at the Constitutional Court and in other places,” Dasco stated at the Prabowo-Gibran Winning Secretariat in Slipi, Jakarta, on Friday evening.

Dasco’s appeal underscored the need for Prabowo-Gibran supporters to maintain composure as the court delivers its ruling. He urged them to follow the proceedings from the comfort of their homes or workplaces, without resorting to any public actions, either in front of the Constitutional Court or elsewhere.

Furthermore, Dasco conveyed Prabowo’s advice to entrust the decision to the Constitutional Court judges, expressing confidence in their ability to render the best possible verdict without undue interference from any party.

The call for restraint comes amidst heightened tensions and speculation surrounding the court’s impending ruling. Previously, the Constitutional Court had firmly rejected claims circulating on social media regarding a purported leak of the verdict, emphasizing that the judge’s deliberation meeting was still ongoing until the last day before the decision was announced.
