In early April, Apple updated the rules of the App Store, allowing developers to add retro console emulators without violating copyrights or other rights. This change paved the way for the arrival of emulators of classic systems, such as games from consoles like Playstation, Nintendo, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, and many others.

Shortly after the rule update, the iGBA emulator appeared on the App Store. With it, users can play Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color titles directly on their Apple devices.

iGBA supports various Apple family devices, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Players can relive classic Game Boy projects.

However, on April 14th, with thousands of emulator downloads on the platform, Apple removed iGBA from the App Store. It’s worth noting that iGBA was an imitation version of the GBA4iOS app, developed in open source by Riley Testut. It’s still unclear whether the removal was due to plagiarism issues, and the company has not clarified the situation yet.
