Alien Blackout will be removed from app stores in October

The game Alien Blackout, released in January 2019 as a spin-off of the acclaimed Alien: Isolation, will see its end announced in October of this year. Developer D3 Go! has informed that the game will be removed from Apple and Google digital stores on October 31, 2023, and expressed gratitude to the fans for their support.

Alien Blackout is a real-time horror and strategy game that puts the player in the role of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the protagonist from the Alien film series, Ellen Ripley. The objective is to guide a team of survivors through a space station infested with the formidable xenomorph, using only cameras and security systems.

The reason for the game’s discontinuation was not disclosed by the developer, who only stated, “It was an honor to work with the Alien franchise”. Players who already have the game installed on their devices will be able to continue playing as usual, but the game will no longer be available for download in digital stores after October 31. There is no information about a possible sequel or a new Alien series game in the future.
