The present scholarship scheme was first announced by the Andhra Pradesh Government. Now, the benefit of launching this scheme is to felicitate students with required funds so that they will be able to complete their higher education.

It will help those AP students and their families who can’t afford to provide higher education to their kids due to financial burden. Looking at these hurdles, the Andhra Pradesh CM decided to launch the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme to help such students.

If you are one of the interested beneficiaries and wish to check the very first installment, then you need to visit the nearest bank branch where you actually attached the Vidya Deevena Application form.

You might have done this while filling your application. Please note that under this scheme, the state government will transfer funds to the beneficiary account directly.

Implementation of Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

After the announcement made, the implementation of the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme has been done. Earlier, an announcement was made in this regard by he AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on April 28.

Under this scheme, students will get full fee reimbursement which will be valid for 14 lakh students of the state.

To make this scheme successful, the CM has already sanctioned Rs 4,000 crores including the previous due amount including the previous due amount of Rs. 1880 crores.

The CM stated that both health and education should always be the priority for everyone. The amount received under this scheme will be directly transferred to the applicant’s mother.

• To help financially weak students who are unable to seek higher education due to the lack of funds
• It will help promote higher education in the state and will promote others to pursue continuous education

Incentives In The Scheme

As per what mentioned above, a number of incentives are provided to beneficiaries who have joined the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme. Take a look at the list of incentives being offered:

• Tuition fee
• Students will be given Rs 20,000 annually
• Those living in Welfare hostels don’t have to pay for mess
• Money incentives will include Rs 15,000 for Polytechnic students, Rs 20,000 for Graduate Degree students, and Rs 10,000 for ITI Students

A number of benefits are available under the scheme as discussed above. After the launch of the scheme the students of Andhra Pradesh (AP) will be able to have a cost free education.

It’s because they don’t have to pay for tuition fee, mess charges, hostel charges, and other fee. Apart from that such students will be give various incentives under the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

If you wish to enroll yourself in the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme, then you need to adhere to the below given eligibility criteria:

• Employees who have government job won’t be eligible to apply
• If any of your family members are availing pension, he won’t be eligible to apply
• Sanctuary workers exempt from the scheme
• Students who are pursuing courses like Degree, ITI, and Polytechnic won’t be eligible to apply
• The students need to enroll in the institution like Private Colleges affiliated with State Universities/ Boards, and Government or Government Aided colleges
• Your annual family income needs to be below Rs 2.5 Lakh annually
• You should not own any kind of four-wheeler

Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme Guidelines

It all happened on March 29 when AP Chief Secretary issued some guidelines on Jagananna Vidya Deevena implementation. Take a look at the below given guidelines:

• The fee in colleges will be collected as per the notification issued
• There will be no reason to collect any other fee from students
• The attendance of students and teachers will be monitored through Biometric Attendance system
• There is no provision of Fee reimbursement if student’s attendence is below 75%
• The scheme won’t be applicable for private and deemed universities
• The scheme would also not applicable for distance learning courses
• The students who have applied a seat through the management quota won’t be eligible to apply

As the schools and colleges are generally closed after March 31, in such a situation, the state government of AP will provide lunch and deliver it to their homes.

In that direction, the government has also ordered to arrange peanut ‘chikkis”, eggs, rice, etc. to such students.
