Modi Government under fire for ‘misusing’ Indian Air Force resources

Recent media reports revealed the allegations against the BJP-led Modi Government, accusing it of exploiting the Indian Air Force (IAF) for personal gain, notably during the lavish wedding of Mukesh Ambani’s son.

According to Kashmir Meida Service, the IAF, entrusted with safeguarding India’s airspace, reportedly facilitated over 600 flights for the high-profile event, raising concerns about the government’s priorities.

Initially, a letter from the Reliance Group to the Defense Secretary requested facilities for 30 to 40 aircraft during a specific period. However, the actual demand exceeded expectations, with more than 600 flights needing landing and take-off facilities.

Critics argue that the use of Jamnagar Airport, a significant defense asset, as a makeshift commercial airport for the wedding, sets a worrying precedent. Despite its strategic importance, the airport was temporarily designated as an international venue during the event, sparking outrage among citizens.

This alleged exploitation of vital institutions for personal gain has drawn widespread condemnation, with calls for a thorough investigation into the matter gaining momentum.
