Army’s rescue Op underway to uplift people from chairlift stuck midway in Battagram

Army’s Rescue operations have become successful as all students along with their teacher uplifted from chairlift stuck midway in Battagram.

In Alai Jhangarei Pashto area, a passenger chair lift got stuck high above the river as  rope broke resultantly, 8 students of class 9 are stuck in the chair lift.

A chairlift got stuck in the middle of the river at a height of 900 feet after the rope broke at Alai Jhangari Pashto in Bitgram.

As soon as the news was received, announcements were started from the mosques to evacuate the people trapped in the chairlift, while the administration and rescue teams have also left for the operation.

Names of people stuck on chairlifts

According to correspondent Aaj News, 8 students of the ninth class are included in the elevator, including Abrar son of Abdul Ghani, Irfan son of Amreez, Gulfaraz son of Hakeem Dad, Osama son of Muhammad Sharif, Rizwanullah son of Abdul Qayyum, Ataullah son of Kifayatullah, Niaz. Muhammad son of Umar Zeib and Sher Nawaz son of Shah Nazar are included.

If a rescue attempt is made, the third cable may also break

On the other hand, even after many hours, teachers and students stuck in the chairlift are waiting for help. The rescue team says that the chairlift is hanging on only one cable, if rescue is attempted without a Helicopter, the third cable may also break, helicopter is necessary to evacuate people from the chairlift.

Commissioner Hazara’s request to Corps Commander Peshawar to send a helicopter

Commissioner Hazara has written a letter to Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chairman NDMA and PDMA for the operation. However, there has been no response to the Commissioner’s letter.

Commissioner Hazara has also demanded the Corps Commander Peshawar to send a helicopter immediately.

Caretaker Prime Minister issued orders

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has given rescue orders to NDMA and PDMA, and has said that the chairlift accident in KP is an alarming incident.

Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar said in his tweet that I have also directed the inspection of all private chairlifts, it will be ensured that travel on all chairlifts is safe.
