PESHAWAR (16 Jan 2023): According to Baaghi TV reports, Abdul Latif Afridi, former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, has been assassinated on the premises of the Peshawar High Court.
Abdul Latif Afridi was seriously injured in the attack, after which he was shifted to the hospital for medical assistance by the police, but he expired during treatment. According to reports, six shots were fired at him by the accused.

The police have arrested the suspect who fired the shots. Weapons have also been recovered from the possession of the accused. According to the hospital administration, Abdul Latif Afridi was hit by 6 bullets. Latif Afridi was shot in the Peshawar High Court bar room. The spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital has said that the former President of the SC Bar had died when he was brought to the hospital succumbing to multiple bullets.

May Allah give patience to his family members”.

It is worth noting that Latif Afridi was the former president of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association and ANP Lawyers Wing as well as the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Vice President. During service, he was elected 4 times as the president of the PHCBA. He has been at the forefront of the lawyers’ movement which culminated in the reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
