Must-Have Delicacies In South Korea

Did you know that you can get your Food served by a robot in South Korea? Apparently, robots are all the rage in South Korea, and very soon, I can see a robot takeover there!

Anyways, let’s talk about the food there– one thing is for sure, they cook delicious cuisines. Whether street food or fine dining, Korean food has that certain comfort level that no one can deny!

Check out some of the must-have delicacies in South Korea for your next vacation, and make sure you try out all of these!

Kimchi

I am sure you must have tried out the infamous kimchi before in your home country too, but of course, it wouldn’t have had the authentic Korean taste!

Whenever you visit South Korea, make sure to try out the authentic Kimchi– fermented cabbage and other vegetables– either on its own or paired with some rice!

The garlicky taste and the sharp aroma of the vegetables make this dish hard to forget and trust me, you will be craving this every day once you try it out!

Korean Corn Dogs

My favorite Korean street food– corn dogs are made up of half a sausage and half a block of string cheese. Coated with bread crumbs and spices, and topped with sugar, mustard, and ketchup, this is something that you should definitely try out!

You can easily find these anywhere, as they are pretty common street food. The best are those served by food carts or food trucks!

Bulgogi

Bulgogi is marinated beef barbecued to perfection. Now, who doesn’t love a good barbecue, right? The beef is marinated for long hours to bring in intense flavors within the meat, and when barbecued, the aroma is just irresistible!

Tender and full of flavor, this beef is to die for! You can have it with buttery rice, bread, or on its

own and it will give you a unique burst of flavor each time, so make sure you don’t miss out on that!

Tteokbokki

Red, spicy rice cakes have been a very popular Korean delicacy for years now. Drenched in a mouth-watering red sauce, these rice cakes make up for the perfect comfort meal.

You can even try these out in various flavors– black bean, hot sauce, tomato, etc. I love to add some spring onions on top– add that freshness to the dish. This is something unmissable, and I highly recommend you try it out!

Korean Fried Chicken

Wherever you go, you can never go wrong with fried chicken. If you are a fan of super spicy food, this dish is for you. Drenched in Korean hot sauce, this dish is sure to burn your tongue while giving you the taste of heaven. Pretty ironic, isn’t it?

Hoeddeok

After all the spicy food, you can’t say no to some sweetness, right? Hoeddeok is syrupy pancakes that are often sold on carts and trucks on the street. It is particularly popular in winter– pancakes filled with a delicious filling of cinnamon, honey, brown sugar, and peanuts!

Bursting with a sweet, nutty flavor, this dessert is crunchy outside and super soft on the inside– a definition of perfection!
