Instagram Introducing Auto-Translated Captions And Pinch-To-Zoom For Profile Photos
As the name suggests, the feature will automatically translate video captions into the language of the viewer's choice. A screenshot of the feature posted by the leaker suggests that Instagram may add a new toggle button to the accessibility settings to enable it.
Instagram lets you see captions on reels posted on the platform, but right now they're only offered in English. Instagram captions will help users who have limited hearing ability without relying on audio.
You can enable captions on Instagram by going to the app's settings Alternatively, you can tap the three-dot menu button at the bottom-right of a reel, then tap Manage Captions.
The Meta-owned company is also working on a small update that lets you pinch-to-zoom an account's profile picture. This will be a step up from last year's previous addition when Instagram allowed users to tap on profile pictures to enlarge them.
Instagram is working on a stream of animated emojis for DMs, closing read receipts, collaborative carousel posts, multiple audience lists, and more. It recently introduced a sticker to turn Stories into templates, a generative AI editing tool, a reel download option and the ability to share reels with close friends.
In another news, Turkish authorities have ordered Instagram's parent company Meta to pay $160,000 each day amid an ongoing investigation. Meta has been under observation of several government agencies in recent months, including New Mexico.
