Snapchat's My AI Chatbot Sparks Security Concern After Mysterious Story

Users are worried about Snapchat's new AI chatbot, My AI, after it posted a mysterious narrative and stopped responding to chat messages.

The headline of the August 15 piece read, "My AI is gone," over a white blank background. A tweet from Snapchat's official Twitter account that read, "We're sorry, My AI is currently unavailable," was posted alongside the story. Some users have hypothesised that the chatbot's unresponsiveness and the story are the consequence of a hack. Snapchat, however, has not affirmed this.

Concerns concerning the security of Snapchat's AI chatbots have been raised in light of the incident. One of the AI chatbots Snapchat has created is called My AI. The other two are Smart Filters and Bitmoji Deluxe, which use artificial intelligence to let users design more customised Bitmoji avatars.

Snapchat has not provided any information about the operation or security of My AI. But the organisation has stated that it is dedicated to protecting user privacy.
