In India, several mid-range smartphones have recently been launched. Motorola’s Edge lineup was also refreshed with the launch of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion in India. The device features a 144Hz pOLED screen. A 5,000mAh battery with 68W TurboPower charging support backs it. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. With these specs and pricing, the device competes with the OnePlus Nord CE4, which was released in April this year. Our Take
Both phones have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, but Moto beats Nord because its panel supports a faster 144Hz refresh rate and brightness—features that the rival phone doesn’t seem to have. Additionally, the Nord CE4 has a flat-screen, but the Edge 50 Fusion has a curved display. Although a curved display may appear more elegant, we prefer a flat panel because it offers a better viewing experience and no unnecessary touches, improving the gaming experience.
Both smartphones have exceptional designs, but Motorola’s smartphone has a more contemporary look because of the vegan leather finish on its rear panel. Both devices run Android 14 and provide a stock Android experience, but we choose OnePlus’s Oxygen OS Android overlay over Motorola Hello UI due to its greater customizability and ease of use. But whereas OnePlus is only providing two years of OS upgrades and three years of security patches, Motorola offers three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
OnePlus has an edge over Motorola in terms of endurance and battery life.
OnePlus is the undisputed leader in terms of durability and battery life.
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is a feature-rich phone that costs a lot less. Thus, if you’re not a heavy user and want a phone with a superior camera and a premium appearance, we suggest you get the Edge 50 Fusion.
