Vaporizers are becoming highly popular today, especially among individuals seeking cannabis. These are often compact and discreet-looking devices that users can carry around easily. Vaporizers also serve as a healthier alternative to smoking cannabis.

There are two prominent types of vaporizers – concentrate and Dry Herb. Each of these devices has a separate way of functioning. They are both efficient in producing a user’s desired effects conveniently. But the question remains, which one is better?

Dry Herb vs. Concentrate Vaporizers

What are Dry Herb Vaporizers?

Dry herb vaporizers run on dried herb extracts. When a person wants to take a hit from these devices, the coil inside heats the herbs and releases smooth fumes for further inhalation. Users must grind their herbs efficiently to heat up sufficiently and produce the desired flavor levels.

Dry herb vaporizers are a healthier alternative to directly smoking cannabis. One can achieve suitable temperature levels with a dry herb vaporizer and heat the herb extracts only to the point necessary. Users do not run the risk of accidentally burning the herb, which can lead to inhaling harmful fumes that can potentially affect their health.

Dry herb vaporizers are also portable, easy to refill, and use. Unless you choose larger desktop vaporizers that require a plug-in source, most of these are compact enough to carry in your pocket. They are also discreet and produce a minimum smell, which isn’t overwhelming for one’s surroundings.

Dry herb vaporizers are also reusable, which is often an affordable alternative for people looking for long-term use. And the best part about these devices is that users can use them outdoors and indoors without hassle.

What are Concentrate Vaporizers?

Concentrates are often liquid extracts of the cannabis plant. During the extraction process, it is possible to separate cannabis compounds, such as THC and CBD, which is impossible in dry herb vaporizers. It makes concentrate vaporizers suitable for people who want to vape but do not want to consume THC.

There are two common types of concentrates – oils and wax. These can be stronger compared to dry herb cannabis extracts. Since concentrates carry isolated compounds, a single hit has more potency in it than a hit from a dry herb vaporizer. For example, unless a person opts for THC-free concentrates, a single hit may contain 60-80% THC, while dry herb hits may only carry 10-25% THC. It means there is a vast difference in the potency of concentrate vaporizers compared to dry herb vaporizers.

Similarly to dry herb vaporizers, concentrate vaporizers are discreet to use and work efficiently in indoor and outdoor settings. But unlike dry herbs, concentrate vapes may require only a small amount of material to produce the desired effects. It makes the device more cost-efficient for long-time users and new users. However, due to the difference in potency levels depending on compound isolation, new users should take it slow with each hit to avoid overwhelming themselves and facing any adverse effects from the concentrates.

Concentrate vaporizers are easy to charge for continuous use and refill when the first round of material runs out. Depending on whether you use oils or wax, it is handy to have some spare in your hands to avoid any gaps between how consistent you want to be with vaping. A convection vaporizer also works with concentrates and allows you to manage your desired temperatures well. You also won’t have to worry about not being able to find the material you need if you already have a spare in hand, thus leading to a more fruitful vaping experience.

Final Verdict: Which One is Better for You?

Dry herbs and concentrate vaporizers are both healthier alternatives to smoking cannabis. They produce cleaner fumes compared to smoking, thus reducing the risk of inhaling harmful fumes that can potentially cause bodily damage. However, based on their functions, one has to be mindful of which vaporizer is most suitable for their requirements. Concentrate vaporizers are highly efficient for those looking for more potent results. It works best with those who prefer the intake of THC and its effects.

To sum it up, the best vaporizer is the one that will give you the most desirable results. However, for those who prefer toned-down effects, it is better to go for dry herb vaporizers. While THC-free extracts may only work for concentrated vaporizers due to compound isolation, dry herb vaporizers produce significantly lower THC effects, thus making them more suitable for those who do not want a direct hit of the compound. Hence, it is always helpful to be well aware of your preferences before you make a final choice.
