The Invisible Man Book by H.G. Wells

H. G. Wells wrote the science fiction book The Invisible Man. It was first serialised in Pearson’s Weekly in 1897, and that same year, it was also made into a book. Griffin, the scientist referred to as The Invisible Man in the title, is an optics researcher who devises a method to modify a body’s refractive index to that of air so that it neither absorbs nor reflects light. He performs this process on himself, making himself invisible, but he is unable to undo it. Griffin, a proponent of arbitrary and careless violence, has established himself as a classic figure in the horror genre.

Wells used a third-person objective point of view in The Invisible Man, as opposed to the first-person narrators he used in The Time Machine and The Island of Doctor Moreau. The book is regarded as important and contributed to Wells’s reputation as the “father of science fiction.”
