As an extremely personal mother, we weren’t all that stunned when Mindy Kaling introduced on an episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” that she secretly welcomed a child boy in September 2020.

Whereas we do not know a complete lot about her household life, “The Office” alum has shared tidbits about elevating her Youngsters right here and there which have saved our curious minds at bay. Kaling beforehand appeared on Meghan Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast collection, the place she opened up concerning the stress she endured as she entered motherhood as a single girl. “There’s a whole Indian angle on it too, to choose to have your own children by yourself,” she advised Markle. “I haven’t been to India since [I was] 14, but you start thinking, like, ‘OK, what do my relatives in India think about this? Is this causing tremendous shame upon our family that I made this decision?'”

She continued: “And I think I can make myself go crazy if I think too much about those things . . . I can’t think about this anymore. I have to just live my life to make myself and the people in my immediate family happy.”

For her forty fourth Birthday in June 2023, Kaling penned a candy tribute to her youngsters on Instagram, calling them “the best birthday gift.” She wrote, “I was never a ‘kid’ person. When my mom passed though, it just clicked in me: I wanted kids with such intense certainty. I bet some of you can relate. Now I’m just trying to be present for them (hard for me! I’m impatient!), being up for anything (again hard for me, I am not whimsical!), and stay healthy for these two guys (ALSO hard! I just want to eat cheesesteaks every meal in front of the TV) for until I’m an old gray skeleton they’re like ‘mom, you gotta go’.”

She continued: “My doctor told me that this year I was the healthiest I’ve been in years. That’s a pretty damn good gift, right? I’m usually kind of low-level anxious, so I’m just gonna take one minute on my birthday to acknowledge that I am happy. Man, there are ups and downs in this life!! But my ups seem to be the most important ones right now. Thanks for my birthday love. (Also maybe I will buy myself that trendy Dior bag that looks like a kidney bean). .”

And in August 2023, Kaling took her daughter to her first-ever live performance: Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, in fact. “Thank you so much @sofistadium and @taylorswift for the best first concert EVER for my daughter, Kit!” Mindy wrote on Instagram. “She swapped friendship bracelets all night and got to hear her favorite Taylor song live, Cruel Summer! It was such a magical night.”
