Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Fold in the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and chopped pecans (if using).
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
