Texas Sheet Cake Cookies



Ingredients:


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)


Instructions:


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a Baking Sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
  5. Fold in the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and chopped pecans (if using).
  6. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
