Dubai: Due to many people interested in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE) is giving more time for people to apply. This award is part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. It’s the 4th time they’re giving this award, and the total prizes are worth USD 1 million.

The goal of this award is to find new and smart ways to solve the problem of not having enough water all over the world. People from all around the world, like companies, research centers, innovators, and young people, can apply for this award until the end of May 2024. They want to see ideas for making water clean and using natural energy like the sun or wind to help.

This award is important because it follows the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He’s the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His vision is to solve the problem of not having enough water, especially for poor communities. This award also supports one of the goals of the UN, which is to make sure everyone has clean water and good sanitation by 2030.

Lots of groups and smart people are interested in this award. They want to find good solutions to the water problem using renewable energy. In the past, this award has been given to 31 winners from 22 countries. There are different categories for this award, like for big projects or small projects, research, and individual efforts.
