Sharjah: During the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) has declared complimentary entry to the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.

Operating in two time slots, from 9 am to 2 pm and 9 pm to 11 pm, the museum welcomes visitors daily, except Fridays. However, it will close during the final ten days of Ramadan to accommodate increased Taraweeh and night prayers. Additionally, it will be closed on the 29th and 30th of Ramadan for Eid Al Fitr preparations.

Renowned for its cultural significance in Sharjah and the region, the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization boasts remarkable architectural beauty, reflecting traditional Arab-Islamic styles.

Originally serving as a marketplace in 1987, its construction spans an impressive 10,000 square meters, inspired by the prestigious Natural History Museum in London, featuring exquisite stonework reminiscent of its counterpart.

The Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) oversees a rich tapestry of cultural institutions, each contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape of Sharjah and the wider region. The SMA also manages specialized museums such as the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, dedicated to the art of Arabic calligraphy, and the Sharjah Science Museum, which provides interactive exhibits and educational programs to inspire curiosity and learning among visitors of all ages.
