Dubai: The Government of Dubai has introduced a new international Prayer times app called Dulook Dxb, covering over 50,000 cities across 190 countries around the world. Released ahead of Ramadan, expected to begin around March 12, the app aids millions of Muslims in performing their five daily prayers, which vary based on the sun’s movement.

Muslims observe Fajir at dawn, Dhur at midday, Asr in the late afternoon, Maghr just after sunset, and Isha between sunset and midnight. These prayers, collectively known as salah, are obligatory for capable adults.

The app is completely free and moreover ads-free

Dulook DXB employs Sharia-compliant criteria, considering astronomical factors and altitude, to accurately calculate prayer timings. Developed by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai with oversight from the International Astronomical Centre, the app allows users to calculate alternative prayer times if Sharia indicators are unavailable.

Accessible in English and Arabic, Dulook DXB accommodates people with disabilities and aligns with official prayer schedules in many countries. Moreover, it’s ad-free and available for free on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
