  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup canned cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • ¾ cup cooked chopped bacon, divided
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 (6-8 ounce) boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion, optional garnish
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix

How to Baked Crack Chicken Recipe

·  Start the oven at 375°F. Spray a 9-by-13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.

· Place the chicken breasts or thighs in a single layer at the bottom of the baking dish. So, salt and pepper should be evenly spread over the chicken breasts. Place aside.

· Your onion and garlic should be cooked in a medium skillet over medium heat until they clear and soften. It’ll take between two and three minutes.

· Once the onions and garlic are cooked, add the cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, and dry ranch dressing mix. Stir them until the cream cheese melts and all ingredients are mixed.

· After taking the skillet off the heat, stir in sour cream and a half cup of cheddar cheese. Stir it until it’s smooth and creamy.

· Put the same amount of the mixture of cream cheese on top of each chicken breast. So, spread the cream cheese mixture to cover the chicken breasts well. On top of the chicken covered in cream cheese, you should put 12 cups of cooked, chopped bacon.

· So spread the rest of the cheddar and Monterey jack cheese on top of the chicken breasts in every layer.

· Cover your dish with aluminum foil and bake it for 20 minutes.

· After you take off the aluminum foil, you should sprinkle the 14 cups of cooked, diced bacon bits over the cheesy chicken breasts. Bake the chicken for another 20 minutes, with the top off, until it fully cooked (an internal temperature of 160°F) and the cheese melts and bubbling.

· Give your baked cracked chicken five minutes to rest before you serve it.
