Microsoft Launches First "Windows Feature Experience Pack" With 2 New Additions, Currently For Insiders

Microsoft introduces a new "Windows Feature Experience Pack," the first to make improvements to the Windows experience outside of major Windows 10 updates. This new approach will help Microsoft improve the features and experiences it develops. whatever the operating system. This new “Windows Features Experience Pack” process is first tested with members of Windows Insider, before expanding its reach to more users in the ecosystem. To get the ball rolling, Microsoft released the first Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 to the beta channel.

The Redmond-based tech giant took advantage of its blog to announce the new “Windows Features Experience Pack” process. These packages will be delivered to Windows Insider members through Windows Update along with builds and cumulative updates. The first update for Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 provides two new enhancements. Insiders will have the option of using the screen clipping feature built into Windows. You can press WIN + SHIFT + S to create a clipping of your screen and paste it directly into a folder of your choice in File Explorer to save the screenshot. The other addition is that the portrait touchscreen keyboard on a 2-in-1 touchscreen device now supports split keyboard mode.

As mentioned, only Windows Insider members will be able to install this new Windows Feature Experience Pack. Eligible users can go to Settings> Update & Security> Windows Update and check for updates. Microsoft states that to receive this update, Insider members on the beta channel will need to have Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.662 installed.

Also, a restart will be required after installing the latest update, and the version of Windows Feature Experience Pack can be checked by going to Settings> System> About. In the future, Windows Feature Experience Pack updates will be integrated into the existing service process for Windows 10 and delivered to customers in this way through Windows Updates.
