The RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das tried to play down concerns over the Internal Working Group recommendations over Bank Licences to industrial houses.The governor said that the RBI has not taken any decision on the bank licences so far and the recommendations in this regard are from an Internal Working Group.The governor added that the report is in public domain and the RBI will await response from stakeholders and only after examining them will it take any decision on giving bank licences to industrial houses.The issue has triggered a row in last few days with many including former RBI Governor and deputy governor Raghuram Rajan and Viral Acharya slamming the recommendations over the issue of connected liquidity.
