SEAGATE - Bloomington, MN - Engineering Technician 2 - Microscopy Engineering - Entry Level (Open) Job Title: Engineering Technician 2 - Microscopy Engineering About Our Group: We are the Failure Analysis team at Seagates R & D site in Bloomington, MN. We provide opportunities for improved head process and design through consistent and accurate determination of the root cause of head failures. We have a team of 20+ engineers and technicians within our team. We have various high resolution tools to characterize material at the Nanoscale. About the Role: You will apply engineering, analytical, and communication skills to impact the bottom line. - Individual will support of the FIB cut & look process and lapping operations of the Microscopy Lab. - SEM/FIB/AFM imaging. - Preparation of samples by lapping - Ability to work independently - Ability to analyze results and develop reports on findings - Develop new techniques as required and document procedures. - Must follow safety instructions and maintain a clean, safe work environment. - Applicant must have the ability to work in a clean-room suit if required About You: - Prior experience working in a highly dynamic environment. - Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Your Experience Includes: - Experience with precision machinery operations. - Related experience in Electron Microscopy or Technical degree - MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. - Prior experience working with high mag microscopes in the lab or production environment. - Prior experience with FIB, TEM, AFM or SEM type tools You might also have: - Familiarity with TEM imaging - Familiarity with FA lab environment Location: Bloomington, MN Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
